Monster Hunter Wilds is a story of monsters and humans co-existing in the Forbidden Lands, a world with two faces: one in which the lands are harsh and unforgiving, where monsters fight for scant resources, and another in which the lands are vibrant and brimming with life. Play as a professional monster hunter assigned to the Forbidden Lands Research Commission, tasked with protecting the balance of the ecosystem and hunting monsters. Seikret
The Seikret is an animal mount with exceptional agility and a keen sense of smell. It can guide you to your next objective or waypoint and allows you to heal up, sharpen your weapons and gather materials as you travel there. Vitally, it can also hold a second weapon in its weapon sling, allowing you to switch between armaments during a hunt.
Focus Mode
A new way to aim your attacks and guards with more precision, allowing you to direct actions in the same direction as the camera. Focus Mode also highlights any wounds created by repeatedly attacking certain body parts, as well as any weak points the monster has left exposed.
Focus Strikes
While in Focus Mode, your Hunter can perform special Focus Strikes that will cause extra damage to highlighted wounds and weak points.
Power Clash
Block certain attacks will trigger a struggle between your Hunter and the monster. Successfully pushing the monster back will knock it off balance, giving you an opening to attack.
Offset Attacks
Hitting a monster with certain attacks as it is attacking will cause the attacks to clash, knocking the monster off balance.You canuse this opportunity to follow upwith powerful unique attacks.
Slinger
This wrist-mounted projectile launcher fires various types of ammo that can be gathered in the hunting locales. Additionally, the Hook Slinger lets you gather items from a distance and trigger environmental actions whether on foot or riding your Seikret.

Familiarise yourself with a selection of the monsters that roam the Forbidden Lands, each one of which has developed fascinating and unexpected ways to survive the environment.
Changing environments
Experience two distinct seasons in the massive, ever-changing environments found in the game. Fallow, a period where hungry predators roam the land for food, is followed by an ecology-altering Inclemency, leading to a rich period of Plenty. The same locale may look completely different between the two seasons. Each environment is inhabited by its own apex predator, which will appear during the area's Inclemency.
Windward Plains
As a member of the Research Commission charged with investigating the Forbidden Lands, the Windward Plains is the first new hunting locale you'll visit. The Plains are a diverse region filled with sandy deserts, swaying grasslands, twisting rock formations and other natural wonders.
Scarlet Forest
Following the river found in the Windward Plains will lead you to the verdant Scarlet Forest, with its towering trees and abundant water, which is peculiarly dyed a crimson hue. Like the other hunting locales, the Scarlet Forest undergoes periods of Plenty, Inclemency and Fallow that transform the landscape and wildlife residing within it.
Oilwell Basin
A unique locale where, as its name suggests, oil wells up from the ground and accumulates in deep pools of oil silt. This land experiences an Inclemency known as the Firespring, a phenomenon in which fierce fires blaze.
Iceshard Cliffs
A frigid land swept with snowy blizzards.
Base Camps
Each locale features a base of operations built by the Expedition Team. These camps offer respite from the Forbidden Lands, providing a tent for the hunter and all the facilities required to prepare for your next expedition. Stock up on items and ingredients, and visit the smithy to forge and upgrade your armour and weapons.
