The additional eartips allow you to choose how much isolation from the outside world you want.

Two beamforming outer mics on each earbud pick up your voice and deliver it as clearly as possible, while one inner mic isolates noise. Environmental noise cancellation and echo suppression algorithms capture every nuance of your voice without any noise or distortion, even if you're outside on a windy day.
