    • Ensure the sensor and magnet are aligned and within 22mm of each other when the door/window is closed.

Configuration

  • Status Monitoring: The sensor reports open/closed status in real-time in the Aqara Home app.
  • Automations (highly recommended):
    • Create automations such as:
      • "If Front Door opens AND I am Away → Send push notification"
      • "If Front Door opens → Start recording on G410 doorbell"
      • "If Window opens at night → Turn on indoor lights" (requires additional smart devices)
    • Set up automations via the Aqara Home app → Automations tab, or via Apple HomeKit / Google Home / Alexa routines.
  • History Log: The app records a log of all open/close events with timestamps.

Verification

  • Sensor appears in the Aqara Home app under the G410 hub
  • Opening the door/window shows "Open" status in the app
  • Closing the door/window shows "Closed" status
  • Push notification received when status changes (if configured)
  • Automations trigger correctly (test each automation)

Tips & Best Practices

  • Mount on the top edge or side edge of the door/window for the most discreet placement.
  • Ensure the gap between sensor and magnet is no more than 22mm when closed.
  • The CR1632 battery lasts up to 2 years under normal use. The app will alert you when battery is low.
  • Purchase additional Aqara Door & Window Sensor T1 units to cover more entry points - the G410 hub supports up to 64 Zigbee child devices.
  • Avoid mounting on metal surfaces as this can interfere with the Zigbee signal.

Common Issues

Issue

Solution

Sensor not found during pairing

Ensure the G410 hub is online; bring the sensor closer to the hub during initial pairing

Sensor shows incorrect status

Check alignment - the magnet may be too far from the sensor body or mounted on the wrong part (frame vs. door)

Delayed notifications

Check your phone's notification settings and ensure the Aqara Home app has background permissions

Battery drains quickly

Frequent open/close cycles drain battery faster; this is normal for high-traffic doors

  5. Attach the G410 onto the mounting bracket - it will click into place.
  6. Restore power at the circuit breaker.
  7. The doorbell will power on - wait for the LED to indicate it's ready for pairing.
  8. Plug in the indoor chime to a power outlet inside your home.
  9. Open the Aqara Home app:
    • Tap "+" → search for "Doorbell Camera Hub G410".
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the doorbell to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
    • The app will also detect and pair the indoor chime automatically.
  10. Insert the microSD card (if this is your chosen camera for local storage):
    • The G410 has a microSD card slot. Insert the card and format it via the Aqara Home app.

Configuration

  • Face Recognition: Enable via Settings if you want the doorbell to recognise familiar faces and alert you only for unknown visitors.
  • Video Call: When someone presses the doorbell, you'll receive a real-time video call notification on your phone.
  • Motion Detection: Configure detection sensitivity and zones.
  • Smart Home Integration:
    • Apple HomeKit: Add via the Home app using the HomeKit code on the G410 or in the Aqara app.
    • Google Home / Alexa / SmartThings: Link your Aqara account in the respective smart home app.
  • Zigbee Hub: The G410's built-in Zigbee hub is automatically active once the doorbell is set up - no additional configuration needed. This is critical for Step 5.

Verification

  • Doorbell appears in the Aqara Home app with live video feed
  • Pressing the doorbell triggers a video call notification on your phone
  • Indoor chime rings when the doorbell is pressed
  • Night vision / HDR activates in low-light conditions
  • The device shows as a Zigbee hub in the Aqara Home app (check under Hub settings)
  • MicroSD card recognised (if inserted)
  • Smart home platform integration working (HomeKit / Google Home / Alexa)

Tips & Best Practices

  • Mount at approximately 1.2–1.5 metres from the ground for optimal face-level coverage.
  • The 162° ultra-wide field of view covers a broad area - position it to include your porch and pathway.
  • Ensure your front door area has adequate Wi-Fi coverage.
  • If your existing doorbell transformer is below 8V, it will need to be upgraded for the G410 to function correctly.
  • Test the video call feature by pressing the doorbell and answering on your phone.

Common Issues

Issue

Solution

Doorbell doesn't power on

Check wiring connections and verify transformer output is 8–24V AC

Doorbell not found in app

Ensure phone is on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi; restart the doorbell by briefly cutting power

Indoor chime doesn't ring

Ensure chime is plugged in and paired in the Aqara Home app

Poor video quality

Check Wi-Fi signal strength at the front door

Step 5: Aqara Door and Window Sensor T1

Preparation

  • Ensure the Aqara G410 doorbell hub is fully installed and online (Step 4) - the sensor cannot operate without a Zigbee hub.
  • The Aqara Home app should already be installed and configured.
  • Choose which door(s) or window(s) you want to monitor.
  • Included: Sensor body (larger piece), magnet (smaller piece), 3M adhesive pads (pre-applied), CR1632 battery (pre-installed).

Installation Steps

  1. Open the Aqara Home app → tap "+" → search for "Door and Window Sensor T1".
  2. Select the G410 as the hub when prompted.
  3. Activate pairing mode on the sensor:
    • Use the included reset pin (or a paperclip) to press the small reset button on the side of the sensor.
    • Hold for approximately 5 seconds until the LED flashes, indicating pairing mode.
  4. The app will detect and pair the sensor. Name it (e.g., "Front Door Sensor", "Bedroom Window Sensor") and assign it to a room.
  5. Mount the sensor:
    • Clean the mounting surface with a dry cloth.
    • Peel off the 3M adhesive backing on both the sensor body and the magnet.
    • Attach the sensor body to the door/window frame (the fixed part).
    • Attach the magnet to the door/window itself (the moving part).
